Held twice a year on July 2 and August 16 on The Piazza del Campo in Siena, Italy to honor The Virgin Mary, this bareback horse race is a battle between the 17 Contrade (neighborhoods) of Siena.

Today, the ceramics are made by Fratelli Mari Maioliche, one of the oldest and most prestigious companies producing fine, handcrafted majolica. Every single piece is hand painted by the artists at the Fratelli Mari factory located in Deruta, Italy.Ā
